EDITOR’S CURRENT MAKE-UP FAVOURITES

When it comes to make-up, it’s fun to try new things to achieve different looks – and who doesn’t love buying new beauty products to try out? Well, I do, and it’s okay if it isn’t your thing – we’re all different! Here are a few make-up goodies I’m currently loving to wear…

CHANEL Rouge Coco Baume (£31)
Maybe a little bit pricey for a lip balm, but one that I love to wear. It feels nice on the lips without the tackiness and doesn’t look like you’re wearing lipgloss – which I don’t mind. It includes phyto-ceramides which imitate the skin’s natural ceramides to protect and smooth the lips, amongst many other things to keep the lips moisturised.

TOOFACED 3-in-1 Setting Spray (£14-£28)
This is a nifty spray because it can be used as a primer, a setting spray and to refresh skin throughout the day. It smells wonderful too, because it is coconut infused water which hydrates and brightens the skin. It always feels nice to use pre-make-up.

GUCCI L’Obscur Mascara (£30)
Dior is my usual go-to when it comes to mascara, but for the every day look, this one just pips it to the post. It gives a wide eyed look with long lashes, and it brushes onto the lashes effortlessly. It also doesn’t give me panda eyes which is a huge deal breaker for me when it comes to mascara!

GLOSSIER Lip Gloss (£11)
Sometimes it’s just nice to wear a lip gloss and this one is great. It doesn’t feel sticky and it puts just enough product onto the ‘fuzzy doe-foot’ applicator so you don’t apply too much. It also acts as a lip balm too as it features vitamin E and jojoba Oil.

CHANEL The Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation (£43)
I use this as a touch up over foundation, or alone to even out my complexion. As I wrote in a previous post:

“….is an aqua gel-like sheer formula to use alone or as a touch-up over foundation. With booster mineral pigments and soft focus powders, it helps to even out a complexion. It also includes a hyaluronic acid derivative to keep the skin hydrated, and kalanchoe leaf extract, combined with SPF 25 / PA+++ to protect the skin from environmental factors and the sun.”

YVES SAINT LAURENT Sequin Crush Glitter Eyeshadow (£27)
This highly pigmented dream is by Tom Pécheux and features a number of amazing shades. I absolutely adore this YSL eyeshadow for two main reasons – it stays put all day without a primer, and two, the vibrancy looks wonderful on the eye. I’ve worn it a number of times from putting it on before 7am and taking it off at post 1am, and never needing to touch it up.

MAYBELLINE Dream Urban Cover Foundation (£10.99)
I don’t always wear foundation, but when I do, I tend to go for something more full coverage that lets you build up to it. This one does the job whilst feeling lightweight, and it also includes SPF 50 which is a bonus. Mind you, I’m not sure on the effectiveness within make-up compared to actually wearing a sun cream.

All of the items were bought by MODAN, and not sent to be reviewed. The opinions expressed in this article are that of the author’sWhat works for them, may not work for you. But it’s always fun giving a new product a go!
