With the new beauty trend of skin minimalism (or skinimalism for short) and the no need for heavy make-up due to spending months at home because of lockdown, a few reality stars have decided to get rid of their cosmetic procedures in favour of a more more natural look.
Lip fillers, teeth work and face contouring by make-up has been the rage for some time now, with a number of socialites, reality stars and even A List celebs having dabbled in changing their appearance. It has ultimately trickled down to the average person, with some of these procedures being able to be done during your lunch break – though not recommended!
Love Islander Molly-Mae Hague recently dissolved her lip fillers saying on her instagram stories following the procedure: “I really hope some of you guys learn from the mistakes I’ve made with filler, especially my younger followers.
“I started getting filler so young and it has been one of my biggest regrets. I used to be so insecure about my slightly thinner lips but now I’m older I’ve realised that embracing what you have naturally is so much better! (I truly mean this). Reversing all my mistakes and feeling so much better for it.”
She has also removed her long blonde hair extensions to reveal a cute bob cut and had the composite bonds removed from her teeth recently (not pictured) which she had done a few days before the filming of Love Island. It’s plain to see she looks absolutely gorgeous without the need of added extras!
TOWIE Queen, Gemma Collins, recently insisted via Instagram that she had definitely dissolved her lip fillers after fans accused her of still having plump lips in a post-exercise picture she posted to social media. She also went to her Instagram stories to clear it up: “Guys these are my lips.
“This was yesterday, the reason why they’re bigger today is because I’m blowing them out because I’m exhausted.”
“I’m a woman of my word. I’ve had them all dissolved, and I actually love my original face it’s me and I love it.”
After the announcement of her own luxury skincare line, she told the British tabloid The Sun “I have tried Botox and filler, and I had it all dissolved. I can’t stand it.
“I was looking at myself thinking ‘I just don’t look like me anymore.” She also commented that celebrities are starting to look the same due to these procedures.
Who else in the world of celebsville might be deciding to embrace their natural beauty? If the lockdown has taught us one thing, it’s that embracing your natural look doesn’t change how people see you.
