Having been raved by the likes of Vogue, Cosmopolitan and This morning’s Phillip and Holly, I was excited to try a couple of brushes by make-up artist Joy Adenuga.

Brushes can make or break your look. It’s easy to buy cheap and then regret it later – the bristles fall out or the make-up doesn’t take to the brush very well. Having experienced both these things, I was intrigued to try brushes created by a talented make-up artist.

Firstly, these brushes are 100% vegan and contain high-grade synthetic hair. They look cute with an ombre effect, and are shaped with the application process at the forefront. We don’t have time to be dropping brushes mid-powdering!

Multi-use face brush cream/powder 004 – Booked and Busy (£15)

This versatile brush has a contour shape for precision on the face and it fits under the eye area which is a bonus.

After prepping my skin with a cleanser and primer, I used this brush with a liquid foundation which applied to the skin with ease. It didn’t leave any areas patchy and made the application process quick and trouble free. The final look was smooth and well blended.

Large powder brush 001 – Big Mamma (£22)

This is one big brush. Suitable for a number of things; setting powder, face and body bronzer, blush, and anything else you can think of.

After using the liquid foundation, I used this brush with a setting powder to finish my look. It really is such a dream, and I don’t tend to say that about a lot of stuff. The bristles are so soft and make applying a powder so effortless. It took me next to no time and created a wonderful finish.

Over all, am I happy with these brushes? Absolutely. They also wash and dry well, and have that feeling of quality so you know that they will last for a long time. Off to check out the rest of the collection…
