The sun is shining. The grass has recently been mowed. You’re sat with friends wearing the blue dress you bought on a whim online. There are people around who are also enjoying the outdoors during this warm afternoon. You sip the pale rosé from the chilled can whilst wearing a floral headband as if you’re at a festival – minus the wellies, of course.
I think you get the picture. Ever since receiving a can of Nice – a wine for whenever – I have felt the want of dancing in the middle of a field during the height of summer, surrounded by friends and with an incredible musician on stage. Either the alcohol has gotten to me or I’m just feeling a sense of optimism now we can see a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel (though, we’re not quite there yet, so maybe it is the alcohol).
You might think that drinking out of a can isn’t for the sophisticated wine drinker. Okay, you’re probably right, but Nice do not pretend that they are. It isn’t something to look down on either – with its hip branding and bucket hat bundle (festival vibes, anyone?), it’s a fun way to drink wine whether that’s with friends or after work on a Friday in front of Corrie (no judgments here).
Using 100% Grenache grapes, the 12% dry pale rosé is described as ‘French’, ‘Lively’ and ‘Vegan’, but above all, it’s a truly refreshing drink and perfect for those who aren’t the biggest fan of the general wine flavour. For me though, it was delicious and genuinely caught my curiosity with it being served in a can. yes, I poured it into a glass and added ice cubes. Why? Just because.
Other drinks from the range include sauvignon blanc and malbec, with all available as sets of 6, 12, 24 and 48. Though, if you fancy nipping to your local, you can pick a can up from somewhere like Sainsbury’s for £2.65.
Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it, you may just be converted.
